Frequently asked questions

Straight answers — from a Capital Region crew you can trust.

Forty years of hands-on experience boils down to one thing: you should know exactly what you're getting before we lift a tool. If your question isn't here, call us at (518) 391-5370.

What kinds of jobs do you take on?

Big or small, we fix it all. Day-to-day, that looks like drainage systems, masonry and chimney repair, bathroom remodeling, trim work and finish carpentry, plumbing, general home repairs, and full construction projects. If it's part of your house and it's broken, worn out, or needs to be built — we've almost certainly handled one like it before.

Where do you work?

We serve Albany, Cohoes, Clifton Park, and the broader Capital Region of Upstate New York. Our shop is at 6a Elaine Ct in Cohoes, so most jobs are a short drive — which means faster scheduling and quicker follow-ups when something needs a second look.

Do you really offer free quotes?

Yes — free, no-pressure, no-obligation. We'll come out, look at the work, ask a few questions, and give you an honest price in writing. If the scope changes once we're underway, we tell you before we touch it.

How much will my repair cost?

It depends on the work, but our pricing philosophy doesn't change: fair prices for expert help. We don't pad estimates, and we don't quote sight-unseen on anything complicated — that's how surprises sneak in. Request a free quote and you'll get a real number for your real job.

How long have you been doing this?

Over 40 years in the Capital Region. That's four decades of stone foundations, finicky old chimneys, sagging trim, leaky bathrooms, and every other quirk that comes with the historic homes around here. Experience is the reason we can give you a straight answer on day one.

Are you insured? Can you pull permits?

Yes to both — we're fully insured, and we pull permits with the city whenever a job requires one. We don't carry a general contractor's license because most handyman and repair work falls below the contract size that triggers licensing in New York — but we're happy to show you our insurance documentation before any project begins. If your job is large enough to need a licensed GC, we'll tell you up front rather than take it on.

Can you handle older or historic homes?

Absolutely — they're a big part of what we do. The Capital Region is full of beautiful old stone, brick, and timber-framed houses, and they need a different touch than new construction. We work to match what's already there rather than fight it.

Do you do small jobs, or only big projects?

Both. A loose railing, a dripping faucet, a single rotten trim board — those are real problems, and we'll fix them properly. We treat a one-hour repair with the same care as a full bathroom remodel.

How quickly can you start?

For most repairs, within a few days. Larger remodels and masonry projects get scheduled out further depending on the season. When you request a quote, we'll give you a realistic timeline — not a promise we can't keep.

What's the best way to get on the schedule?

Two easy options: request a free quote through the form on this site, or call us directly at (518) 391-5370. Either way, you'll talk to a real person who knows the work — not a call center.
